About

My first trip to the continent was in 2010 when I studied abroad at the University of Ghana, Legon, traveling around Ghana, and dipping into Togo and Benin. Since then I spent two years in Eastern Senegal with the Peace Corps followed by a year in Southern Mali. I am now a PhD student in Development Sociology, conducting research and working in both the East and the West of Africa.

My interests are primarily: humanitarianism, Islam, NGOs, health, governance and exploring the diversity of African cultures and inequality within, not just the continent but within every nation.
